Time Is Running Backwards
Livorno, Italy
I’ve realized this mural for MuraLi Project in the city of Livorno, Italy.
I painted in Borgo Cappuccini an historical area where there used to be the Odeon cinema, the largest in the city, unfortunately closed years ago and now converted into a parking and fitness center…
Moreover the title “La vita è bella” has been chosen by the lady who lives on the ground floor of the building. It’s a direct reminder to Benigni’s film and the historical events of the 2nd World War as in Livorno there was one of the biggest and free Jewish community in Europe.
In my immagination I wanted to bring back to life a place loved by the community, as if time could slip backwards.
